Let’s Start Our Own Seedling Nursery!

Back in my grandfather’s days — and from what I remember as a child — we used to grow our own rice seedlings. By my father’s time, things had become more efficient at the community level, and we would purchase young seedlings grown at shared nurseries for planting.

But as things come full circle, we’ve decided:
let’s start our own seedling nursery again.

With some small tools — and a lot of help — we began preparing the designated nursery area during the winter months.

It was a huge help♪

Growing seedlings outdoors does come with challenges, such as being more affected by temperature changes. However, these days we can rely on seedling-growing equipment to manage that aspect more effectively.

Seedling cultivation refers to the process of germinating and nurturing young plants in a controlled environment, before transplanting them into the rice fields.

With more stable cultivation in mind, we’ll do our best to ensure a successful rice planting season again next year.
